Propulsion Build Engineer (Starship)

About this role

SpaceX is seeking a Propulsion Build Engineer to aid in the development of manufacturing processes for vehicle fluid systems within the Starship program. The role requires collaboration with design and production teams to ensure the efficient build of propulsion hardware while conducting testing and overseeing the work of technicians.

What you'll do

• Develop manufacturing processes and tooling for high-rate production
• Collaborate with design teams for simplification of vehicle fluid systems
• Supervise technicians and welders in creating functional fluid systems
• Coordinate testing of systems and tooling to meet deadlines
• Create CAD models and maintain build schedules
• Participate in design reviews with stakeholders

What they're looking for

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in relevant engineering discipline
• Hands-on experience with fluid or mechanical systems
• Manufacturing design experience (1+ years)
• Knowledge of GD&T concepts
• Understanding of fluid mechanics and heat transfer
• Experience with pressurized components
• CAD experience, preferably with Siemens NX
• Familiarity with welding processes
