About this role
SpaceX seeks a Software Engineer to develop test and automation software for advanced Starshield spacecraft components. You'll design and build test infrastructure from scratch, combining software and hardware expertise to validate flight-critical systems before deployment.
What you'll do
- Develop modular, reusable test automation software in Python for manufacturing and design verification
- Write automation to interface with flight hardware, test equipment, instrumentation, and production systems
- Create custom automation solutions for engineering and manufacturing challenges using embedded electronics
- Develop algorithms to analyze test data and determine component acceptance criteria
- Maintain and troubleshoot automation infrastructure while identifying root causes of failures
- Define project plans, manage milestones, and oversee reliable test system delivery to production
