Structural Engineer, Structural Test (Starship)

SpaceX is looking for a Structural Engineer to join the Starship Structural Test team, where they will contribute to the design and analysis of large steel and concrete structures. The role involves fabricating test structures to apply flight-like loads, promoting innovative and efficient construction methods.

What you'll do

• Provide technical expertise in the design and analysis of large steel and concrete structures
• Develop test structures in collaboration with vehicle and test engineers
• Plan fabrication and support on-site activities for structural projects
• Consider boundary conditions, load paths, and stiffness in designs

What they're looking for

• Bachelor's in engineering
• 2+ years in composite steel and concrete systems engineering
• Advanced degree in relevant engineering fields (preferred)
• Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) or Professional Engineer (PE) (preferred)
• Experience with nonlinear structural analysis
• Knowledge of building codes and steel construction standards
• Familiarity with design programs like ETABS and ANSYS
