You'll own test campaigns from conception through data analysis, managing test stand equipment, safety protocols, and collaborating with technicians and engineers in a fast-paced R&D environment.

What you'll do

  • Design test fixturing, schematics, and mechanical/thermal/electrical tests for rapid battery pack development
  • Lead full test campaigns including planning, activation, operations, data review, and equipment maintenance
  • Establish safety protocols for high-voltage and destructive battery testing
  • Supervise technicians in fabrication and integration of test articles and stand equipment
  • Develop and maintain test procedures, software scripts, and configuration files
  • Operate National Instruments DAQ systems, instrumentation, and troubleshoot data acquisition and control systems

What they're looking for

  • Mechanical engineering fundamentals and hands-on testing
  • Lithium-ion battery handling and safety protocols
  • High-pressure, high-voltage, cryogenic, and hazardous systems experience
  • 3D CAD modeling (NX, Inventor, CATIA, etc.)
  • Programming (Python, Matlab, C, C++, Java, or Visual Basic)
  • Instrumentation knowledge (pressure transducers, thermocouples, RTDs, strain gauges, etc.)
  • Data anomaly analysis and root cause identification
  • Technical writing and procedure documentation

Benefits

  • Work on cutting-edge space exploration technology
  • Hands-on role with diverse engineering challenges
  • Collaborative, fast-paced team environment
  • Exposure to multiple SpaceX flagship programs
  • Opportunity to design and build from scratch
  • Mentorship from experienced aerospace engineers
