About this role

Stratolaunch seeks a Harness Engineer (Level II, Sr., or Staff) to design and optimize wire harness systems for hypersonic flight vehicle avionics in Mojave, CA. You'll collaborate across mechanical, avionics, and manufacturing disciplines to develop requirements, create production-ready designs, and support testing from prototype through low-rate production.

What you'll do

  • Design wire harness architecture, layout, and create production drawings for manufacturability
  • Develop harness specifications, test procedures, and oversee installation and functional testing
  • Coordinate with suppliers and machine shops to ensure designs meet manufacturing and quality standards
  • Support failure analysis, troubleshooting, and hardware/software qualification and flight testing
  • Optimize packaging processes, establish yield metrics, and present findings at design and test readiness reviews
  • Transition prototype programs into Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) with cross-functional communication
