About this role
Toast is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Orders API team in Boston, building a high-scale, mission-critical platform that handles restaurant order operations. You'll own end-to-end components, drive reliability and testing strategies, and collaborate across teams to innovate on the complete order lifecycle.
What you'll do
- Design and implement features that enhance Orders API functionality and reliability at scale
- Establish testing strategies and maintain strong automated test coverage to ensure quality
- Own operational monitoring, observability, alerting, and on-call response for production systems
- Provide design feedback and conduct code reviews to maintain implementation standards
- Participate in architectural discussions and help evolve API design and delivery practices
- Collaborate with Product, QA, and cross-functional teams on scalable service delivery
