About this role
Torc, a Daimler-owned autonomous vehicle software company, seeks a Software Engineer II for Data Engineering to design and maintain scalable AWS-based data pipelines processing fleet and simulation data. You'll build ETL solutions, manage data lakes, and support ML training infrastructure while collaborating with cross-functional teams on safety-critical autonomous truck software.
What you'll do
- Build resilient data ingestion and ETL pipelines to process large-scale vehicle fleet and simulation data on AWS
- Design and scale Torc's data lake through distributed storage, crawling, and discovery mechanisms
- Implement data validation, versioning, and governance practices to ensure data integrity and provenance
- Support acquisition and integration of internal and external datasets into the data platform
- Collaborate with perception, planning, control, and testing teams to deliver data solutions for autonomous vehicle development
- Participate in business-hour on-call rotation to monitor and support deployed systems
