Software Development Engineer, Security Platform
About this role
Twitch Security Platform seeks an SDE II to design and operate foundational security infrastructure, including data pipelines, detection automation, and compliance tooling that protect the platform at scale. You'll own end-to-end projects spanning security telemetry ingestion, authentication, vulnerability management, and privacy engineering while partnering cross-functionally with security and infrastructure teams.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and operate critical security services and data pipelines handling large-scale telemetry and automation workflows
- Own projects end-to-end from architecture and implementation through production deployment and operational support
- Partner with Security, Identity, Privacy, and Infrastructure teams on Twitch-wide initiatives and security improvements
- Drive operational excellence through observability, reliability improvements, and operational readiness for business-critical systems
- Conduct design reviews and code reviews to elevate engineering standards and validate technical decisions
- Lead technical discussions and influence architectural decisions across multiple services and workstreams

- Backend service design and operation (3+ years production experience)
- Go, Java, Python, or similar modern programming languages
- AWS cloud infrastructure, IaC, and safe deployment practices
- Security systems architecture (data lakes, authentication, vulnerability management, compliance workflows)
