About this role
US Conec seeks a Plastics Engineer to lead the development and optimization of injection molding processes for high-density fiber-optic connector solutions. You'll drive process improvements, troubleshoot manufacturing defects, and collaborate across engineering and production teams to enhance quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness in a global precision manufacturing environment.
What you'll do
- Develop and optimize plastic injection molding processes for new products and existing programs through mold trials and process qualification
- Analyze molding performance and implement improvements to reduce scrap, cycle times, and defects while increasing equipment effectiveness
- Partner with tooling, product development, and manufacturing teams on mold design reviews and new product launches
- Troubleshoot molding defects such as flash, warpage, sink marks, and dimensional variation using scientific molding principles
- Evaluate and recommend plastic materials and resins based on performance, manufacturability, and cost requirements
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to process technicians and production personnel while supporting continuous improvement initiatives
