About this role
US Conec seeks a Plastics Engineer to develop and optimize injection molding processes for precision fiber-optic connectors. You'll lead process improvements, troubleshoot manufacturing challenges, and collaborate across engineering and production teams to enhance quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness in a 30+ year industry leader.
What you'll do
- Develop, validate, and optimize plastic injection molding processes for new and existing products
- Lead mold trials, process qualification, and production readiness activities
- Analyze molding performance and implement improvements to reduce scrap, cycle times, and defects
- Partner with tooling, product development, and manufacturing teams on design reviews and launches
- Troubleshoot molding defects including flash, warpage, sink marks, and dimensional variation
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to process technicians and production personnel
