About this role
Varda seeks a Spacecraft Systems Engineer II to design, integrate, and test avionics systems for their W-Series orbital vehicles. You'll drive electrical architecture from concept through production, lead HITL testbed development, and ensure mission readiness for both space operations and hypersonic reentry.
What you'll do
- Design electrical architecture, system diagrams, and budgets for power, telemetry, and mass predictions
- Conduct fault analysis, develop FDIR mitigation plans, and resolve system integration uncertainties
- Build and operate Hardware-In-The-Loop testbeds to simulate spacecraft systems on the ground
- Lead comprehensive verification and validation testing for flight avionics hardware
- Serve as primary contact for integrated avionics systems investigations and troubleshooting
- Develop ground infrastructure, test racks, and contribute to engineering best practices and test automation
