Pre-Sales Engineer
About this role
Vast seeks a Pre-Sales Engineer to serve as the technical bridge between its satellite engineering team and customers, translating complex system tradeoffs into actionable insights and operating proprietary simulation tools during the sales cycle. You'll be the trusted technical voice representing engineering perspective in customer meetings, proposals, and industry forums while supporting the Satellite Business Development team from initial discussions through close.
What you'll do
- Answer system-level engineering questions in real time during customer calls, meetings, and site visits
- Represent engineering organization at customer engagements, industry conferences, and public speaking events
- Collaborate with system leads on propulsion, payload, and subsystems to create customer-ready technical materials
- Operate simulation tools to model satellite performance, power dynamics, and system tradeoffs
- Support Business Development with technical proposals, RFI/RFP responses, and feasibility assessment
- Develop and refine internal simulation and analysis tools for customer-facing technical work
