About this role

Vast is hiring a Software Engineer II to develop enterprise applications supporting the design and operation of commercial space stations. You'll build full-stack web applications and backend services in a fast-growing aerospace company, working with modern technologies and cross-functional teams.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain web applications using modern frontend frameworks and backend services that integrate APIs and microservices
  • Contribute to backend service design including data modeling, API development, and supporting data pipelines
  • Build and ship features across the full software development lifecycle from design through production support
  • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code following established software engineering practices and participate in code reviews
  • Identify and resolve software defects, performance issues, and production incidents
