About this role
Vast is seeking Tooling Engineers to support the design and development of its cutting-edge space stations. This role involves creating and implementing tooling solutions essential for assembly and production processes in a fast-paced aerospace environment.
What you'll do
- Design and implement fixtures and tooling for assembly
- Collaborate with integration and manufacturing teams
- Define specifications and qualification plans for tooling
- Perform mechanical analysis for spacecraft fixtures
- Manage tooling modifications and vendor relationships
- Develop operation and maintenance plans for test fixtures
What they're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience with GD&T
- 5+ years in aerospace or automotive tooling
- Proficiency in NX or other 3D CAD software
- Hands-on experience with large assembly handling
- Knowledge of project planning practices
- Strong communication skills
- Design experience with motion systems (preferred)
