GRC Engineer

About this role

The GRC Engineer at Verkada will lead the governance, risk, and compliance function within the Security Team, focusing on managing risks and ensuring compliance while supporting the company’s rapid growth. This role involves creating automated processes for security controls and facilitating collaboration across various departments to enhance security practices and policies.

What you'll do

• Build and lead the GRC function within the Security Team
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and plans
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on security controls
• Conduct risk assessments and manage security compliance
• Create procedural documentation and training materials
• Implement corrective action plans for compliance issues

• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously in ambiguous situations
• Experience with AWS or similar cloud services
• Background in IT compliance and audits
• 7+ years in security or IT compliance
• Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, JSON) is a plus
