Product Design Mechanical Engineer
About this role
Lead the mechanical design of Verkada's next-generation enterprise intercom products from concept through mass production. You'll own all aspects of mechanical engineering for hardware featuring audio, cameras, RF components, and environmental resilience, collaborating closely with electrical and industrial design teams.
What you'll do
- Design mechanical solutions for enterprise hardware including audio, cameras, RF, mounting, sealing, and environmental resistance
- Guide products from initial proof of concept through mass production and validation phases (EVT, DVT, PVT)
- Collaborate with electrical engineering to integrate PCBAs, sensors, and electro-mechanical elements
- Partner with industrial design to prototype, test, and finalize product form and materials
- Manage vendor relationships on design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA), tooling bring-up, and production validation
- Develop mechanical reliability test plans, execute design-of-experiments (DoEs), and perform failure analysis
