About this role
Voyager Technologies seeks a senior Mechanical Engineer to develop and evaluate metallic and non-metallic materials for solid rocket motor propulsion systems. This role involves materials characterization, manufacturing support, and compliance documentation in the defense and space sector.
What you'll do
- Characterize advanced ceramics, insulators, and refractory metals for extreme temperature applications
- Evaluate, select, and qualify materials and electronic components for extreme environments
- Lead research and innovation projects optimizing material selection for challenging propulsion applications
- Specify and plan complex manufacturing processes including additive manufacturing, composites, machining, and welding
- Author compliance documentation such as PMP/PMAP, MUA/MUIL, and failure analysis reports
- Provide expert consultation and communicate technical information to diverse audiences
