About this role

Vulcan Elements is seeking a Process Safety Engineer to enhance its Process Safety Management (PSM) programs, ensuring safety and compliance in manufacturing American rare-earth magnets. The role involves leading hazard identification initiatives, compliance efforts, and fostering a safety culture across the facility.

What you'll do

  • Develop and improve the site's PSM program per OSHA and EPA requirements
  • Conduct Process Hazard Analyses and risk assessments
  • Manage incident investigations and root cause analysis
  • Oversee emergency planning and contractor safety training
  • Lead safety audits and regulatory compliance reviews
  • Provide technical guidance on safety and risk mitigation

What they're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years in process safety management
  • Knowledge of OSHA PSM and EPA RMP standards
  • Experience with PHAs and risk assessments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
