About this role

Waymo seeks a systems engineering software intern to design and implement test infrastructure, automation pipelines, and tooling for Hardware-in-the-Loop and simulation platforms. You'll collaborate with engineers to streamline test execution, failure triaging, and release qualification while working on impactful autonomous driving technology.

What you'll do

  • Design and implement software infrastructure and test runners in C++ and Python for HIL benches and simulation platforms
  • Collaborate with Systems and Test Engineers to understand testing requirements, workflows, and automation pain points
  • Build automated pipelines and data workflows for failure triaging, regression testing, and qualification reporting
  • Author technical design documents and user guides for new automation capabilities
  • Lead technical demos and workshops to onboard engineers to newly developed tools
  • Scale test execution across multiple platforms and environments
