Waymo is seeking a Software Engineer to enhance operational processes in their autonomous fleet using advanced robotics and machine learning. This role involves automating hardware lifecycle operations, collaborating with various teams, and applying AI to improve efficiency in manufacturing and troubleshooting.

What you'll do

• Automate the hardware lifecycle for critical sensors and compute modules.
• Develop agentic systems to streamline workflows between teams.
• Identify AI applications to enhance manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with engineers to translate physical requirements into specifications.
• Bridge experimental ML models to scaled production environments.

What they're looking for

• Master's or PhD in Machine Learning or Computer Science
• Experience in deploying machine learning models at scale
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Familiarity with agentic tools and frameworks
• Background in automating industrial workflows
• Knowledge of hardware diagnostics and failure analysis
