Waymo is seeking a Systems Engineer specialized in perception to enhance autonomous driving technology. The role focuses on establishing software requirements, qualifying perception systems, and utilizing simulation data to ensure performance and safety of autonomous vehicles.

What you'll do

• Propose requirements for perception systems based on statistical arguments
• Lead qualification of perception software systems
• Facilitate consensus on requirements among teams
• Develop analysis tools using simulation and fleet data
• Design, debug, and execute tests
• Present analysis results in reports and presentations

• Advanced degree in relevant technical field or equivalent experience
• Software engineering experience with Python or related languages
