About this role

Join Abnormal AI's Data Platform team as a Software Engineer I to design and operate scalable data infrastructure supporting AI-native SaaS applications. You'll work on core systems including databases, streaming platforms, and orchestration tools while collaborating with experienced engineers to deliver features end-to-end.

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain core data platform components including storage systems and data processing pipelines
  • Build tools and services that enable other engineering teams to adopt and scale data systems
  • Automate infrastructure and operations to improve reliability, performance, and scalability
  • Apply GenAI techniques to enhance developer and operator experiences
  • Collaborate across teams to address scalability and reliability challenges
  • Take ownership of projects from design through delivery with mentorship from senior engineers

  • Python or Go programming
  • Software engineering fundamentals (data structures, testing, debugging)
  • Backend or distributed systems experience
  • AWS or cloud platform knowledge
  • Kafka, Kinesis, or Flink streaming experience
  • PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, or Redis database experience
  • Problem-solving and communication
  • Infrastructure automation
