About this role
Accenture Federal Services seeks Mechanical Design Engineers to convert legacy 2D aerospace & defense drawings into model-based 3D definitions in PTC Creo, embedding manufacturing intent through annotations, GD&T, and PMI aligned to ASME standards. The role involves model creation, validation, BOM reconciliation, and PLM integration for a major modernization program.
What you'll do
- Build model-based definitions in Creo with PMI (dimensions, GD&T, datums) following ASME Y14.5 and Y14.41 standards
- Add model annotations including data-rights markings, material properties, and revision data
- Run automated model checks using tools like Creo ModelCHECK and resolve errors
- Create and reconcile model-based BOMs with PLM EBOM for manufactured and as-installed states
- Generate derivative files (STEP AP242, QIF, 3D PDFs) using consistent naming conventions
- Support obsolescence review and contribute process improvements to the technical lead
