Agent Systems Engineer
About this role
Build production agent systems that handle real-world constraints like incomplete information, external failures, and unpredictable traffic. You'll design architectures for planning and reasoning, improve reliability on multi-step tasks, create feedback loops for continuous improvement, and develop rigorous evaluations—balancing quality, latency, cost, and complexity.
What you'll do
- Design agent architectures for planning, reasoning, tool use, memory, and external system integration
- Improve reliability and failure recovery for long-running, multi-step agent tasks
- Build feedback loops that enable agents to improve performance from real-world usage
- Develop evaluation systems that measure agent performance accurately and resist gaming
- Make practical tradeoffs between quality, latency, cost, and system complexity
- Implement execution tracing and observability for agents with focus on reproducibility

- LLM application development from prototype to production

- OpenAI Responses API and MCP

- Python or equivalent production systems language
