RCDD Telecom Design Engineer
About this role
AGE Solutions seeks an RCDD-certified Telecom Design Engineer to lead structured cabling and telecommunications infrastructure modernization for a large federal campus in Washington, DC. This role requires designing, coordinating, and overseeing copper and fiber optic installations while ensuring compliance with BICSI standards and government requirements in a secure environment.
What you'll do
- Lead design and planning of structured cabling infrastructure for campus-wide telecommunications refresh across multiple facilities
- Coordinate and supervise installation of copper and fiber optic cabling, MDF/IDF buildouts, and backbone connectivity in secure environments
- Create, review, and maintain telecom drawings, floor plans, cable schedules, and as-built documentation using Visio/AutoCAD
- Manage technician teams, project timelines, material coordination, quality assurance, and daily site operations
- Conduct site surveys, cable testing and certification, troubleshooting, and provide infrastructure improvement recommendations
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, subcontractors, and government stakeholders throughout project execution and cutover activities
