About this role
Agile Defense seeks a Computer Engineer III to design, develop, and manage complex DoD software and training systems with expertise in combat systems, simulation technologies, and real-time messaging. The role requires extensive experience in Navy Combat Systems architecture, DoD project lifecycle management, and multiple specialized naval platforms.
What you'll do
- Design and develop complex DoD software systems with emphasis on reliability and high performance in operational environments
- Manage software projects from inception through deployment and maintenance across the full lifecycle
- Design computer system architectures and implement combat system training solutions
- Work with real-time messaging technologies and simulation architecture standards for distributed systems
- Manage software version control, source code repositories, and maintain compliance with IEEE and DoD standards
- Travel up to 20% for project support and collaboration (CONUS and OCONUS)
