About this role

LearnVector, founded by Andrew Ng, seeks a Learning Engineer to design AI-powered learning experiences that translate pedagogical principles into scalable products. You'll blend deep teaching expertise with technical skills to encode quality teaching practices into AI systems that adapt to how learners actually develop skills.

What you'll do

  • Design and build learning experiences including practice tasks, explanations, feedback, and assessments grounded in learning science
  • Translate pedagogical principles into technical specifications that AI systems can execute reliably
  • Establish and enforce quality standards for AI-generated teaching content through review and automated checks
  • Prototype learning experiences rapidly using AI tools and modern development approaches
  • Conduct direct research with learners through observation, pilots, and usability testing to inform iterations
  • Collaborate with founding team and leadership to define and implement standards for effective teaching

  • Instructional design and learning science fundamentals (retrieval practice, worked examples, cognitive load, feedback)
  • Real-world teaching or training delivery experience
  • Python or JavaScript programming for prototyping
  • Prompt engineering and LLM application design
