About this role
Airbnb seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design and build scalable risk detection and fraud mitigation systems for its global payments platform, which processes billions of dollars across 191 countries. You'll collaborate with product, data science, and operations teams to protect the platform from malicious activities while maintaining ease of use.
What you'll do
- Design and build scalable, service-oriented risk detection and mitigation systems for the payments platform
- Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and cross-functional partners to develop fraud detection strategies and respond to emerging risk issues
- Build and maintain integrations with third-party payment networks, processors, and vendors
- Develop monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions for risk systems
- Implement and iterate on risk detection strategies as business requirements and threat landscapes evolve
- Work with other engineering teams to advance technical foundation and engineering processes
