Security Engineer
About this role
Air Space Intelligence seeks a Security Engineer to harden and secure cloud and endpoint environments in AWS GovCloud and Microsoft GCC High, while ensuring compliance with federal security standards like NIST 800-171 and CMMC. You'll combine coding, infrastructure-as-code, and threat modeling to embed security across the development lifecycle for mission-critical defense and intelligence applications.
What you'll do
- Harden and maintain cloud infrastructure (AWS GovCloud, Microsoft GCC High) to meet federal security standards
- Investigate, remediate, and escalate security vulnerabilities across systems
- Conduct threat modeling sessions using methodologies like STRIDE and PASTA
- Automate configuration management, patching, and policy enforcement for networks and endpoints
- Monitor security events and alerts using SIEM tools and cloud-native services
- Support incident response and collaborate with product and compliance teams on security integration

- Container and CI/CD security (Kubernetes, image hardening, vulnerability scanning)
- Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Terragrunt)
- Federal security frameworks (CMMC, NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, FedRAMP)
- AWS GovCloud and cloud-native incident alerting (GuardDuty, Security Hub, Azure Defender)
- SIEM tools (Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk)
- Supply chain security (SBOM, artifact generation, dependency management)
- Threat modeling and secure SDLC practices
