About this role

Join Alarm.com's Home Automation Experience team as a Software Engineer II to build full-stack features for a consumer-scale smart home platform. You'll work across web, mobile, and backend services while collaborating with product, design, and QA teams to deliver intuitive home automation solutions to both end customers and dealers.

What you'll do

  • Develop full-stack features across frontend, backend, and data layers for home automation products
  • Own technical designs and implementations from conception through deployment
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Quality Engineering, and peer engineers throughout the project lifecycle
  • Conduct research and evaluate new technologies to solve complex product challenges
  • Participate in code reviews and design reviews to maintain code quality and architectural integrity
  • Scope and decompose ambiguous problems into shippable increments with cross-team input

  • Full-stack development across multiple languages and frameworks
  • Frontend engineering with modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks (React, Ember, Vue, Angular)
  • Backend API development (REST and/or GraphQL)
  • Database design, optimization, and query performance
  • Object-oriented design, SOLID principles, and design patterns
  • Testing at multiple layers (unit, integration, end-to-end)
  • Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools
  • C# and .NET Core (preferred)
