About this role

Alpaca Health is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to own the platform foundation for a healthcare software company enabling clinicians to launch their own practices. You'll design and build critical systems spanning AI-powered workflows, billing infrastructure, provider operations, and patient experiences while working in a small, technical team with direct customer interaction.

What you'll do

  • Design and own data models, APIs, and core platform infrastructure supporting healthcare operations
  • Build AI-integrated clinical workflows for documentation, treatment planning, and administrative assistance
  • Develop revenue and payments systems handling authorization, billing, adjudication, and provider payouts
  • Create tools and automation for credentialing, compliance, scheduling, and business operations
  • Own end-to-end products from database schema through user experience
  • Build internal automation systems to streamline operational workflows across the platform

  • Full-stack software development with demonstrated depth
  • Experience building systems in operationally complex domains (fintech, healthcare, insurance, logistics)
  • Systems thinking and data modeling expertise
  • Strong product intuition and user experience awareness
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and driving solutions independently
  • LLM/AI integration experience
  • Healthcare domain knowledge (preferred)
  • SQL and database design proficiency
