Design Release Engineer - BIW Upper body Structures
About this role
ALTEN Technology USA seeks a Design Release Engineer to own the design, development, and release of BIW (Body-in-White) upper body components for automotive applications. You'll manage parametric modeling in NX, coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing plants, and provide launch support to ensure designs meet cost, performance, and regulatory requirements.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and release BIW upper body components using parametric modeling in NX
- Collaborate with external suppliers, stamping plants, and vehicle body shops to ensure manufacturability and performance
- Develop and manage CBOM, Quadris, and Source Package technical documentation
- Define and track engineering validation plans including DVP&R, DFMEA, and PFMEA
- Provide onsite plant launch support to address assembly issues and root cause failures
- Communicate project status, risks, and deliverables to cross-functional stakeholders
