About this role

ALTEN Technology USA seeks a Design Release Engineer to lead the design, development, and production release of automotive cockpit interior components—primarily instrument panels, consoles, and doors. This role requires managing design feasibility, validation testing, risk assessment (DFMEA), and cross-functional collaboration with suppliers and internal teams to ensure components meet performance, quality, safety, and cost targets.

What you'll do

  • Drive design and development of instrument panel, console, and door components from concept through production release
  • Collaborate with suppliers on design feasibility, manufacturability, cost optimization, and engineering standards compliance
  • Develop and execute validation testing strategies, including component, vehicle, and durability testing
  • Lead DFMEA and risk assessment activities to ensure design robustness and mitigate potential failures
  • Provide technical guidance on design issues, material selection, and manufacturing process improvements
  • Generate technical documentation and partner with manufacturing, quality, and vehicle integration teams
