Lab Engineer II
About this role
ALTEN Technology USA seeks a Lab Engineer II to operate and maintain test environments, perform equipment troubleshooting, and support robotic prototype validation in their North Reading, MA facility. The role requires 5+ years of technical lab experience with hands-on expertise in electro-mechanical systems, equipment repair, and lab operations.
What you'll do
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot test environments and lab equipment to ensure prototype development and verification readiness
- Perform robot repairs and hardware rework, diagnosing root causes and implementing corrective actions
- Build, test, and validate robotic prototypes using motion capture systems and lab instrumentation
- Create engineering documentation including test reports, work instructions, and lessons-learned materials
- Identify lab process improvements and lead initiatives to optimize workflows as new spaces come online
- Manage lab resources, materials stocking, and test fixture assembly/maintenance
