Controls Engineer, Manufacturing Automation
About this role
Anduril Industries seeks a Controls Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain manufacturing automation systems including PLC/HMI platforms, Ignition SCADA applications, and OT/IT infrastructure. You'll work across the full lifecycle of production controls — from architecture through commissioning — while ensuring OT cybersecurity and collaborating with cross-functional teams in a defense manufacturing environment.
What you'll do
- Develop and debug PLC code on Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms for high-volume manufacturing
- Build and maintain Ignition Perspective SCADA applications with tag architecture, alarms, and historian configuration
- Design and troubleshoot production OT networking (MQTT, OPC UA, TCP/IP) down to packet-level diagnostics
- Deploy and sustain OT/IT server infrastructure including Ignition gateways, historians, and MQTT brokers
- Implement OT security practices including air-gapped design, network segmentation, and server hardening
- Partner with IT, Security, and Manufacturing Engineering on cross-functional initiatives and design reviews
