About this role
Anduril Industries seeks a Field Test Engineer to lead hands-on testing and operations of autonomous underwater vehicles and subsea systems at sea. You'll plan and execute at-sea test events, troubleshoot equipment in the field, and bridge engineering designs with real-world ocean validation, with approximately 50% travel to global maritime operations.
What you'll do
- Execute hands-on troubleshooting, repair, operation, and maintenance of AUVs and subsea systems in field conditions
- Lead daily operations for multiple AUVs including pre-mission testing, launch/recovery, vehicle tasking, and data analysis
- Write, review, and execute test plans during sea testing operations
- Author detailed operational test reports documenting step-by-step execution of internal and customer-facing test efforts
- Coordinate test execution with third-party vendors, partners, and logistics companies
- Support software UI design feedback and generate user documentation for maritime systems
