Firmware Engineer, Manufacturing Test
About this role
Anduril Industries seeks a Firmware Engineer for the Manufacturing Test team to develop testing platforms and automation solutions that validate defense technology products at the lowest hardware levels. You'll work across firmware, software, and hardware boundaries to build robust test systems, debug complex issues, and establish production-line procedures for a defense technology company.
What you'll do
- Develop firmware and software for test platforms that interact with products via I2C, SPI, CAN, UART, USB, and other protocols
- Create low-level firmware for microcontroller platforms and control algorithms for data acquisition tools
- Design device-side validation capabilities using SSH, gRPC, and existing debug tools
- Debug and troubleshoot cross-functional issues spanning electrical, firmware, and software domains
- Translate troubleshooting processes into automated test procedures and SOPs for production staff
- Collaborate with electrical and product firmware teams on Design for Test (DFT) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews

- Microcontroller integration with analog and digital sensors
- Bare-metal, RTOS, and embedded Linux firmware development
- Communication bus protocols (USB, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS232, RS485, Ethernet)
- Board bring-up and debugging techniques
- Data acquisition and signal analysis (FFT, Bode plots)
- JTAG, SWD, oscilloscope, and logic analyzer proficiency
- ARM, AVR, or other microcontroller architecture experience
