About this role
Anduril Industries seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to design and manage mechanical ground support equipment, tooling, and fixtures for space vehicle production. You'll oversee the complete tooling lifecycle—from CAD design through procurement, qualification, and sustainment—while ensuring cleanroom compatibility and supporting a state-of-the-art production facility ramping up 12–18 months ahead of schedule.
What you'll do
- Design mechanical ground support equipment and production tooling in CAD through released drawings, including fixtures, integration stands, and alignment tools
- Manage tooling procurement runway and long-lead items against facility schedule to prevent schedule delays
- Qualify tooling through load path analysis, proof load testing, lift certification, and first-article inspections with auditable records
- Design tooling for cleanroom compatibility, selecting materials, coatings, and lubricants to eliminate particle generation and foreign object debris
- Drive Design for Manufacturability feedback into vehicle designs before Critical Design Review, addressing tool clearance and handling provisions
- Own tooling sustainment including calibration, maintenance intervals, spares disposition, and configuration control using manufacturing execution systems

- Tooling procurement and supply chain management
- Manufacturing execution systems (Foundry, Teamcenter)
- Semi-automated assembly station design and automation justification
- Proof load testing and lift certification requirements
