About this role

Anduril is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to own hardware development for expeditionary defense systems, from concept through field deployment. You'll design novel equipment for demanding military missions, work directly with warfighters to understand battlefield needs, and iterate rapidly from prototype to production.

What you'll do

  • Design and develop hardware end-to-end, from concept generation to real-world field deployment
  • Engineer novel solutions for demanding military mission requirements using first-principles analysis
  • Build and iterate on prototypes and first articles with hands-on fabrication
  • Collaborate with manufacturing partners to scale designs and ship at volume
  • Conduct rigorous testing to ensure designs survive harsh battlefield conditions
  • Travel to field exercises to provide support and gather warfighter feedback

  • Mechanical design and CAD (any platform, preferably Siemens NX)
  • Engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Hands-on fabrication and prototyping
  • Machining, sheet metal, composites, and 3D printing
  • Integration of electronic components into mechanical designs
  • Static, dynamic, and thermal analysis (ANSYS experience preferred)
  • Product lifecycle management and design ownership
  • First-principles engineering analysis
