About this role
Anduril Industries seeks a Mechanical Engineer to own the complete development lifecycle of advanced mechanical systems for high-speed unmanned air vehicles, from concept through flight testing. You'll design and integrate hardware for avionics, thermal systems, fuel systems, and composite structures while applying first-principles physics and leading design reviews.
What you'll do
- Own mechanical designs from concept generation through production, including avionics, mechanisms, thermal and fuel systems
- Develop and integrate hardware on unmanned air vehicles with focus on high-performance and resilience
- Lead design reviews, conduct engineering analysis, manage vendor relationships, and execute hardware test plans
- Build prototypes, perform failure analysis, and transition successful designs into production
- Design and analyze composite structures and develop production tooling for high-volume manufacturing
- Support customer demonstrations and travel to test sites as required

- CAD software proficiency (Siemens NX preferred)
- Mechanical design across multiple domains (mechanisms, thermal, avionics, fuel systems, structures)
- First-principles physics and core engineering principles
- Scalable manufacturing methods (machining, sheet metal, composites, 3D printing, injection molding)
- Composite materials design and tooling development
- Thermal and structural analysis
- Metal-to-composite design adaptation and material trade-off analysis
- Advanced manufacturing techniques for composites and plastics
