About this role

Anduril Industries seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design, build, and test ground support equipment for Omen, an autonomous tail-sitter aircraft. You'll own mechanical design from prototyping through field demonstration, developing innovative support systems for launch, recovery, fueling, and vehicle handling in diverse operational environments.

What you'll do

  • Design and prototype ground support equipment including launch/recovery systems, storage, fueling, and mission handling devices
  • Develop, review, and execute test plans for support system equipment with efficient reporting of results
  • Create full-scale mockups and representative vehicle elements to evaluate support system designs
  • Draft Standard Operating Procedures for support systems across austere and established operational environments
  • Conduct hazard assessments and implement risk mitigation controls following MIL-STD-882E standards
  • Identify and coordinate land and maritime test facilities and provide feedback to vehicle design teams
