Systems Engineer, Space Imaging
About this role
Anduril Industries seeks a Systems Engineer for its Space Imaging team to design and validate advanced electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) sensor architectures for space-based applications. You will conduct radiometric modeling, lead prototype development, and perform laboratory and field testing to deliver high-performance imaging systems for defense customers.
What you'll do
- Define spaceborne EO/IR system architectures through detailed trade studies and performance analyses
- Develop and validate physics-based models of sensor performance, including atmospheric and environmental effects
- Design and prototype sensor systems in laboratory environments, managing rapid iteration cycles
- Support laboratory and field-based experiments to validate models against real-world data
- Lead small engineering teams from concept through system definition and development
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and mission teams to integrate and deliver systems to customers
