About this role
Join Anduril's propulsion engineering team as a winter co-op intern to develop and test aircraft engines and fuel systems for unmanned air vehicles. You'll work hands-on with prototype design, propulsion system testing, and CAD modeling while supporting cutting-edge defense technology projects.
What you'll do
- Select and integrate aircraft engines, engine components, and fuel systems for unmanned air vehicles
- Design, fabricate, and test prototype components and control systems
- Plan, instrument, and execute propulsion system tests with data collection
- Coordinate with engine vendors and manage development partnerships
- Contribute to CAD design of aerodynamic surfaces and structures
- Support hardware demonstrations for customers and travel to test sites as needed
What they're looking for
- Jet and piston engine fundamentals
- CAD design (NX/Teamcenter preferred) for mechanical parts and surface loft
- Engine cycle analysis and simulation tools
- Engine testing practices, instrumentation, and data analysis
- Manufacturing methods (machining, sheet metal, composites, 3D printing)
- Engine Management Systems (EMS) experience
- Machine shop operations and safety protocols
- Project coordination and vendor management
