San Francisco, CA | Seattle, WAFrom $270kmidAdded 6 days ago

About this role

Anthropic seeks a tax systems engineer to build and maintain production integrations connecting billing, ERP, and data warehouse systems with tax compliance infrastructure. You'll own tax-specific tooling across multiple domains—indirect tax, corporate income tax, withholding, R&D credits, and transfer pricing—while serving as a foundational technical hire on a growing tax technology team.

What you'll do

  • Own tax changes in billing codebase and billing-to-tax-engine integration, including withholding considerations
  • Lead AP tax engine implementation across ERP purchasing flows: data migration, integration, reconciliation, and go-live validation
  • Build tax-specific products and tooling including indirect tax reconciliations, provision pipelines, transfer pricing datasets, and exemption validation
  • Own production connections between tax stack and data infrastructure, feeding central ingestion layer
  • Design SOX-aware control-total tooling and audit-ready evidence pipelines for tax data flows
  • Partner with Billing, Data Platform, Tax, and Product teams to optimize and scale the tax stack

What they're looking for

  • Production Python development with testing and code review discipline
  • SQL for data reconciliation and end-to-end validation
  • Tax systems fluency in at least one domain (indirect tax, corporate tax, withholding, R&D credits, or transfer pricing)
  • Billing platform, ERP, or enterprise finance system integration experience
  • SOX-aware data flows and internal process environment (IPE) design
  • Data warehouse and analytics engineering (dbt, BigQuery preferred)
  • LLM or AI application experience
  • Internal tool development for non-technical users
