San Francisco, CA | New York City, NYFrom $405kmidAdded 2 days ago

About this role

Anthropic is hiring an Infrastructure Capacity Planner to own medium-range demand forecasting across their multi-cloud infrastructure fleet. You'll build forecasts for accelerators, CPU, storage, and networking to drive sourcing decisions, cost efficiency, and resource optimization for AI model training and inference workloads.

What you'll do

  • Build and maintain multi-resource demand forecasts by accelerator type, CPU shape, storage tier, and managed services driven by model roadmap and workload growth
  • Execute weekly plan-versus-reality reconciliation, surface variance, and align fleet occupancy with forecasts
  • Validate incoming capacity purchases against forecast for correct specifications, region, timing, and supporting resources
  • Partner with Finance to translate forecasts into cost drivers and identify efficiency opportunities
  • Qualify capacity contracts before signature to ensure alignment with demand signals
  • Own forecast error instrumentation and drive variance toward zero

What they're looking for

  • Capacity, demand, or supply planning for large-scale cloud or HPC infrastructure
  • SQL and Python/pandas for building forecasting models independently
  • Understanding of datacenter resource classes and their interdependencies
  • Forecasting and optimization modeling techniques
  • Data warehouse analysis and data pipeline work
  • Infrastructure and accelerator fleet knowledge
  • Cost analysis and financial modeling
  • Vendor management and procurement processes

Likely interview questions

  • Walk us through a demand forecasting model you built from scratch—what data sources did you use, and how did you handle seasonality or step changes?
  • Describe a time when your forecast was significantly off. How did you investigate the root cause and improve?
