Ground Network Engineer
About this role
Apex seeks an experienced Ground Network Engineer to design and operate mission-critical ground infrastructure supporting satellite operations across commercial and classified environments. You'll architect Kubernetes platforms, define security controls, and serve as a technical leader ensuring high availability for aerospace programs where downtime isn't acceptable.
What you'll do
- Architect and deploy ground network infrastructure spanning multiple security and classification levels
- Design, scale, and operate highly available Kubernetes clusters for mission-critical workloads
- Define and enforce security posture, hardening, and compliance controls for government and commercial programs
- Build and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform and Terragrunt with CI/CD automation
- Establish observability through monitoring, metrics, logging, and alerting to prevent mission-impacting failures
- Mentor engineers and set architectural standards for ground infrastructure across the organization
