About this role

Apex is hiring a Harness Design Engineer to develop electrical harnesses for spacecraft and satellites serving commercial and government customers. You'll design, analyze, and verify harnesses to meet rigorous spaceflight standards while collaborating across systems, mechanical, and manufacturing teams.

What you'll do

  • Design electrical harnesses including wiring diagrams, schematics, and 3D routing models for spacecraft applications
  • Select connectors, wires, and materials suitable for space environments and perform electrical analyses (voltage drop, signal integrity, thermal effects)
  • Ensure compliance with EMI/EMC requirements and spaceflight standards (NASA, ESA, IPC/WHMA-A-620, SMC-S-020)
  • Develop test plans and collaborate with testing teams to validate harness designs under thermal vacuum, vibration, and radiation conditions
  • Generate comprehensive documentation including BOMs, Interface Control Documents, and manufacturing drawings
  • Support spacecraft assembly, integration, and troubleshooting during manufacturing and testing phases
