Spacecraft Quality Engineer
About this role
Apex Space seeks a Spacecraft Quality Engineer to ensure satellite bus hardware meets rigorous aerospace standards through testing, validation, and process management. You'll drive quality assurance across the product lifecycle while collaborating with design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to deliver reliable spacecraft components.
What you'll do
- Establish and enforce quality standards for spacecraft hardware through testing, inspection, and validation processes
- Develop QMS manuals, inspection procedures, and forms for hardware components and subsystems
- Identify and mitigate quality risks during design-for-manufacturability phases
- Lead CAPA and root-cause analysis efforts using 8D and DMAIC methodologies
- Monitor supplier performance and manage supply chain quality issues
- Create quality metrics and documentation including test plans, failure analyses, and audit reports
