About this role
Applied Intuition seeks a Maritime Test Engineer to conduct hands-on testing of autonomous surface vehicles in real-world maritime environments. This role combines field operations aboard vessels with data collection, system monitoring, and technical documentation to advance the company's autonomous systems for defense and commercial applications.
What you'll do
- Execute on-water test events aboard autonomous surface vehicles in closed and open-ocean environments
- Perform pre-underway system checkouts, launch/recovery operations, and vessel preparation
- Operate and monitor autonomy systems during sorties while maintaining deck safety and situational awareness
- Collect, manage, and analyze test data to ensure quality and completeness for each mission
- Document system discrepancies and anomalies in Jira, coordinating with engineering teams
- Author test plans, procedures, after-action reports, and comprehensive test documentation
