About this role
Applied Intuition seeks a Perception Engineer to own perception systems for autonomous mining vehicles deployed globally. You'll design sensor strategies, adapt models to new sites, diagnose field failures, and collaborate across platform teams to translate customer needs into technical solutions.
What you'll do
- Design and implement perception systems for new autonomous mining capabilities using existing and novel model architectures
- Develop data collection and labeling strategies to prepare models for production deployment
- Evaluate build-versus-reuse decisions for new product lines, including output types and KPIs
- Diagnose and resolve model failures in deployed systems through field triage and cross-team coordination
- Translate customer requirements into technical specifications and measurable performance targets
- Collaborate with core autonomy, planning, controls, and customer engineering teams
